The year is 2009, and the small, but advanced country of Latveria has declared war on the rest of the world, along side with the undersea nation of Atlantis. Together, these two powerhouses nearly wipe out the entire continent of Europe. Knowing it is only a matter of time before they are targeted next, the other nations of the world begin to prepare themselves for the attacks, while a committee of United Nations sponsored countries come together to form S.H.I.E.L.D., to combat this threat, who then in turn is given the authority to form a new team of superheroes named The Mighty Avengers and led by World War II famed hero, Captain America, who has been assined the job of finding men and women capable of fighting under his comand. Also joining the Avengers are the newly formed Fantastic Four and the X-Men. However, Doom and King Namor are not alone in these attacks, as they are soon joined by Magneto and his Brotherhood of Mutants, as well as others.
The sides are forming and the battle lines have been drawn. The only question left is where do you stand?
