Outskirts of Town (Tag Kid Lantern)

[Faye Holm]

Faye swooped high over the city of Metropolis, flying on the strong wind currents that supported her. She had some tiem off, and she loved spending it flying around in the air. The sun was just beginning to set, and the sight was spectacular. Faye glided along for a while before she realized she had reached the outskirts of town. Sitting cross-legged in the air, she sighed and looked out at the setting sun. The wind currents blew her long red hair upwards. She sported a red t-shirt and tight blue jeans.

-I really had no business in Metropolis today. My area was Bludhaven, but a trip to Metropolis couldn't hurt. I mean, Bludhaven and Gotham had plenty of other heroes there to take care of the every day riff-raff of villainy. I needed a day off, so I took it, apparently someone had forgotten to tell me that taking a day off meant leaving the costume at home as I was flying through the airways of Metropolis with it on, mask and all. I flew to the top of the Daily Planet and stood on the rooftop, I could see everything from there, including a hot, little red-head floating in the middle of the air. A smile came across my face as I flew up behind her with my arms crossed and a serious look on my face, "Do you have a pilot's license, Miss?", I asked with the sternest voice I could possibly come up with while trying hard as can be not to laugh at myself trying to be serious-

Faye heard a voice behind her and turned around to face Erik. He looked like a typical superhero, right down to the chiseled body and well scultped face behind the mask. She raised her eyebrow, slowly flying towards him. "You're joking, right? Please tell me you're joking" she said, chuckling at him. She wanted to believe he was serious, but there was no way he could be, no matter how convincing his tone was.

-I held back the laughter as long as I could, "I'm very serious, Miss. We here in Metropolis take flying without a license VERY seriously.", I said this while trying hard not to check her out, you see. She was beautiful beyond words and I couldn't help but let my eyes wander a little here and there. I covered up by immediately looking at the building behind her. "People tend to freak when they see a non-costumed Metahuman flying around. Kinda like that guy.", I pointed at the window washer staring at us floating in the air, "Don't worry, citizen, everything is under control!", I shouted at the window washer and gave him a thumbs up, he nodded and went back to work. I'm sure he was expecting to see some sort of Hero vs Villain fight, but this girl had nothing about her that said 'villain' so we were in the clear at this point-

Faye smiled, studying his features as he spoke. Woof woof! he was so incredibly handsome, and she gave her crush away by turning a deep crimson pink. She cuckled again and flew closer to him, patting his shoulder. "You have a very strange sense of humor, but I must admit, it's very enjoyable" She said, smiling up at him. Numerous thoughts raced through her mind, but she tried to keep it under control. "I'm Faye Holm" she said, smiling.

-I smiled as I floated there in place, arms still crossed, "Kid Lantern. You're not from here are you?", I spoke quieter now. "We should get out of the middle of these skyscrapers. Like I said, people freak out." I said to her in hopes that she'd follow me as I flew back towards the Daily Planet-

"Actually, i live here" she said, chuckling. "You must definately not be from around here." she added, smiling. She flew after him as they headed towards the daily planet, matching his speed so they flew side by side

-I finally laughed, "I'm visiting. I'm actually from Bludhaven." I said as she flew next to me. "Have you lived here all your life?", I asked her as I sped up some while flying around random buildings just for fun.

Faye smiled and flew on her back with her hand behind her bed, flying beside him as they spoke. "No, i lived in Sweden for my hcild hood, just moved here a few years ago" she answered, never having heard of Bludhaven.

-I flew next to her still and slowed down a bit as we approached the Daily Planet. I came to a stop and sat on top of the massive structure. "Sweden? You're a long ways from home aren't you? So am I, but Sweden? Seriously?" I laughed for a moment and kept a watchful eye on the city-

"Well, i was born and raised there, but this is my new home now" She said, smiling. "Where is Bludhaven by the way?" she asked, loking over at him

-I smiled, "Bludhaven's right next to Gotham City. Bludhaven and Gotham go hand in hand. So do you just fly around Metropolis every day?", I was making small talk right now. She was beautiful and a redhead at that. I was crazy about redheads. "I like being up here but sometimes I have to let my feet touch the ground to believe it's still actually there.", I said looking back at her-

Faye smiled. "I love flying as often as I can, it makes me feel so free, like a bird" She said, closing her eyes and inhaling the fresh wind, smiling. "being on the ground brigns me back to reality, but when i'm up here, all my worries melt away" She said, her voice full of passion. She used her powers to heighten the wind a bit more, making her hair fly out behind her majestically.

-I smiled, "I like it up here too. Just sometimes you have to come back down to Earth you know?", I floated in the air and sat down directly next to her. Something about her drew me to her more and more. "I know we just met, but would you like to go out sometime?", I asked her. I could have punched myself. I never go for a girl right after meeting her. It usually takes me a while, but she was magnificent and absolutely perfect in every way-

Faye smiled. She had been praying that he would ask her out, and he finally did. She was so dazzled by his looks, and he was such a sweet, charming guy, she couldn't resist. Who could?

"I would love to go out with you" she said, smiling. "Where and when?"
