Kara stepped off the buss with one bag, her purse sporting torn blue jeans a white t-shirt with a large red s in the middle of it for some reason she liked t-shirts with logos on them it seemed to be the latest fad. Her sneakers were faded white cause she'd had them for a few years or least since she'd landed, she grabbed the few bags she had from the luggage compartment of the bus making sure she had everything she closed it then stepped off to the side as she waited for the traffic to clear so she could cross the street. ''Clarke's gonna be really mad about this..'' Kara thought with a sigh as she crossed the street with her luggage in both hands, her purse over her shoulder entering the hotel she figured why not find a decent suite then she'd get some sight seeing in even if she had seen most of metropolis while flying over it.

Erik walked down the sidewalk feeling somewhat under the weather. He had caught a bug of some sort he guessed. Must've been from all the flying around Metropolis. He would play it safe today and keep his feet on the ground for a change until the bug wore off. He coughed and then sneezed. "Dammit. I never get sick.", he said to himself. Erik continued walking until he got to the bus stop in which he saw the gorgeous blonde walking off of the bus. He thought to himself, "Why do I have to be so under the weather right now?", he laughed at himself silently as he kept walking and sneezed again causing him to walk into her. "Oh God, I'm so sorry!", he said to the blonde.

'' It's ok.'' Kara said smiling a little as she adjusted her headband, placed a strand of hair behind her ear not really sure if her cousin was going to meet her at the hotel or the daily planet she couldn't really remember all she knew was that she might be in metropolis to stay or if she was gonna go back to Smallville. but she was never sure, she thought the kid sneezing looked familiar but she couldn't figure out where she'd seen him but she shook her head pushing the thought aside as she waited for the kid to say something like what his name was or something anything really. Normally Kara was in a good mood unless you really annoyed the hell out of her, she ended up losing control of her emotions which often caused various accidents around the farm, she hated being from a different planet especially when she had to pretend to be normal.

-Erik helped her pick up her things. "I really am sorry, Miss...", he had hoped to get a name himself as the girl was very beautiful and after a quick once...twice....thrice over, he saw that she was very fit. "I guess I should buy you a coffee or something to make up for this. Name's Erik.", he said to her with a smile-

'' Nice to meet you Erik I'm Kara, well a coffee sounds nice.'' Kara said smiling she loved coffee but wasn't sure if Metropolis had any place that served coffee better then the Talons, she had to admit she missed Small ville but at the same time she knew she had to get away from the farm because well she was suffering from Cabin fever which meant if she didn't get away for a little bit she'd go crazy. She still had to talk to her cousin about quite a few things like why he never came to the farm anymore, why he never returned her phone calls or even bothered to show up to visit or send a greeting card.

Clark sat up on his bed and put his Advanced Calculus book aside. "Jeez, that's too much for now..." He stands and walks to his desk, brushing through his papers and photos comes across a photo of his Kryptonian cousin Kara. ... He eyes it for a moment, before smiling to himself and looking for his cell phone. He rumages around for a few minutes before finally deciding to use his x-ray vision.
"There, under the bed! This stuff really isn't that hard once you get used to it."
A moment later, he was dialing in the number to Kara's cell.

Kara searched through her bag for the piece of technology that wouldn't stop ringing rolling her eyes she finally found it, flipped it open pressing it to her ear so she could answer. '' Hello?'' She answered not really sure who it was cause she didn't have caller id, she was still learning how to use the stupid thing cause well she hadn't been on earth that long maybe a few months at the most she'd lost count. But after Martha's death she'd been taking care of the farm in Smallville all herself while her baby cousin attended school in Metropolis, she wasn't sure if Clark knew she was in town or not.

Judging the suprise in her voice, he assumed she still was getting used to Earth technology.
"Kara? It's Clark. How are you?"

''I'm good standing in the lobby of a hotel but good.'' Kara said taking a seat on the sofa making sure her bags stayed by her side she watched while people walked toward the elevator with bell hops, slid up the wires to their hotel room not really a fan of moving inanimate objects Kara figured she'd take the stars they seemed alot safer plus she could sprint up them with no problem no matter how heavy her bags were. She had to admit she was expecting Clarke to meet her but apparently he had better things to do then meet his baby sitter, she knew that if he was relaxed his powers were under control which was good even if some of them hadn't really surfaced yet.

Clark was taken by suprise. "A hotel? What's wrong, did something happen to the farm?" He immediately stood up and started looking for his trusty jacket. "Where are you Kara?" Clark had been avoiding this call... he didn't know what had been happening in Smallville and had left certain... situations... in states of chaos. Lana not being the least. "What's going on Kara?"

'' I'm just here to visit, it'd be better to explain in person.'' Kara replied with a sigh not sure how she would tell Clark that his mother had passed away, that she'd been taking care of the farm all by herself since it wasn't easy considering she hadn't grown up around the place. She just hoped her cousin didn't blame himself but she knew she had to tell Kal-El weather she wanted to or not it had been Martha's last wish, she knew her protectiveness would grow stronger as long as she watched over her cousin it was only natural that she'd become his legal guardian according to Martha's will.

Kara's response had sparked his interest. He hadn't known her to be mysterious before. Perhaps something was wrong. Perhaps she had found some new information about their Kryptonian heritage. He decided that since she was already in town, and since his studying was stalled anyways, that perhaps a good meal may help lighten his spirits, and provide him and his super-powered cousin a place to talk.
"Sure, that's fine. If you're near Met U, there's a diner. Tommy's Doo-Wop Dine Inn. Good food, and a loud atmosphere. We can talk there. I'll be there in a minute. How's that sound?"

''I'm waiting for a room Clark meet me in the lobby of the metropolis Hotel it's just a few blocks away from the college.'' Kara said sighing not really in the mood for food at the moment she was still trying to figure out how she'd tell her cousin that his adoptive mother had passed away, explaining why no one had informed him would be even harder. But Kara was wise beyond her years so she'd come up with something before Clark arrived if not after, she just hoped he didn't take it two hard cause well considering the Kents had been the only family he'd known since his ship crashed she understood how attached he was but she knew that her cousin could be at the hotel in seconds or she could be at the diner it didn't much matter.

"Not in the mood for food?" Clark thought to himself. Kara must have something terribly heavy on her mind to not want to eat. He wondered what could possibly be the situation. He didn't know if she had heard something about one of their colleagues possilby, or of a new situaion that the League would need to reassemble for...
He hoped not the latter, they were still in hiding at right now. The smoke had barely settled and he didn't really want to raise the notion that Superman was still around... not yet at least.
"Alright Kara, I can meet you there. I'll be there in just a few minutes. I'm going to try the 'normal' way of doing things," he said with a smile. "I'm trying to keep suspicions down, y'know? See you in a few."
He folded up the silver phone and placed it in his pants pocket. He had been walking around his apartment shirtless, as he was accustomed to doing now that he didn't have to worry about getting "farmer's tan."
It was funny, since he had left the farm, he didn't feel fully like himself. The strict regiment of farm work had taught him hard work, had taught him responsiblity. Without those things, he found himself sleeping in jeans he'd worn that day, leaving his clothes wherever they fall when he took them off and generally being a slob.
His studies took their toll as far as the share of the blame went too. Clark was very smart, Kryptonian intellect surpassed human in almost every way. But he pushed himself. He pushed himself to unreal limits. He was Superman after all, why shouldn't he push himself here too? He was determined to graduate early. To get this portion of his life done so he could focus on being Superman as much as possible. If there was nothing he'd learned lately, it was how badly the world needed him and his friends in the Justice League.
Perhaps he'd keep writing, as he had for the Smallville Press throughout high school. Journalism was a career that could fit the mold, if need be. He'd be in the center of Metropolis, where all the newspapers were located, he'd have access to media from all over the world and if need be, all he'd have to do was say that he needed to go check on a story and he could leave at the drop of a hat. Or a plane, or a building, or mudslide...
He snapped to quickly, pulling on a bright blue t-shirt and finding his red leather jacket. Kara had bought it for him before he left. She said that red and blue looked nice on him, like they were the only two colors that he should ever wear. Looking at his wardrobe, there were almost the only two colors he wore. He was a simple guy.
He grabbed his keys, flicked down the lightswitch and exited his apartment. He was a more accustomed to flying out the balcony sliding glass door, but as he said he was trying to blend in more and more. So the hardwood door was becoming more and more familiar to him.
He walked down the stairwell and out the front door without anyone coming into contact with him. He wasn't much of a people person. Being raised on a farm will hamper your socal skills a bit, if nothing else. He saw the people around him as being able to take care of themselves, usually. But when they needed help, he was always there to do so.
He walked the few blocks to Metropolis Hotel, stopping outside to glance around. He had never been a paranoid person, but Kara's demeanor on the phone had him just a little shaken. Spotting noone following him--for miles--he continued on inside. A moment later, he spotted Kara sitting in a comfortable looking chair in the lobby. He walked up to the area and sat down across from her.
"Fancy meeting you here cousin," he smiled. "How's life down on the farm?"

''Hey Clark um I have some good news, some bad news.'' Kara said not really sure weather he wanted the good news 1st or the bad news normally someone would want the good news 1st but this was Clark not some random person, she wasn't really sure how to tell him the bad news cause well she hadn't really practiced all that. Everything was great on the farm it was just really hard for Kara herself to take care of everything cause well since she hadn't really attended school like Clark had on earth she wasn't the brightest person in the world but her Kryptonian heritage did come in handy once in awhile in layman's terms she was a genies but in mortal terms aside from being Kryptonian she was basically just another dumb blond , even the simplest things like modern technology confused her. Still waiting for her cousin's answer on which news he wanted 1st cause she hoped he'd want the good news 1st least she would but then again Clark was different it just depended on what you were going to tell him.
