Name: Doz-Du
Secret Identity: Sephiroth
Age: 37
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 221 lbs
Hair: grayish silver
Eyes: blue-green
Build: He has somewhat medium build, and great muscle tone. He's not necessarily muscle-bound, but not scrawny either.
General Description: Doz-Du is a Kryptonian, born and raised just outside of Argo City. On Earth, he was discovered by the Justice League and with the help of Batman, he set up his personal laboratory/living quarters in a modified cave forty miles northwest of Metropolis, and set up all the necessary utilities. He has a love of science, and is a very intelligent person. Using Kryptonian photographic memory, he has almost the entire scientific knowledge of Krypton memorized. He wears the outfit Sephiroth wears in the video game Final Fantasy 7, and takes the character's physical identity, because of his resemblance to him. He has very long silver hair.
Personality: Doz-Du loves to study things. He is a positive person most of the time, and has a decent sense of justice. He wishes to use his knowledge to help the humans but despite his acceptance of them, believes them to be extremely primitive compared to what they could be. He does not find purpose in angering easily and tries to maintain composure most of the time.
Powers:Has the standard Kryptonian superpowers that all Kryptonians under the Earth's yellow sun have. This is caused by the extra organelles in their cells, which process certain types of radiation into chemicals used by their body. The yellow sun is specifically processed by these organelles into the protein that nourishes the psionic part of a Kryptonian's brain.
Super Strength - The Earth's yellow sun enables tactile telekinesis, allowing for him to attain amazing feats of physical strength
Invulnerability - The standard Kryptonian mind can exert a psionic forcefield slightly above the skin, which is proof against virtually anything. (I'm explaining Kryptonian invulnerability this way, because if it was merely on the cellular level, then Superman's clothes would get torn when he gets shot)
Super Speed - When running on the ground (because flying really fast is a separate power), a Kryptonian can attain high velocities due to the fact that their muscles don't produce a significant amount of lactic acid (the chemical that in all living organisms causes fatigue), and the fact that their legs can't deteriorate from a huge strain of such rapid movements.
Flight - A Kryptonian can fly because their mind telekinetically affects gravity around their body to enable them to move through space.
Super Vision - Telescopic and microscopic vision are the psionic mind of the Kryptonian telepathically "zooming in" on an object within certain limits. The eyes can also emit microwave radiation in a thin beam, tuned to the specific frequency of the object the Kryptonian is looking at, resulting in a "heat vision" effect.
Super Hearing - The psionic mind of the Kryptonian can augment sounds that are heard, as if they were close by.
Super Breath - The chest muscles can super compress air once it is in the lungs, drastically lowering its temperature
Just a personal note, I'm terribly sorry about the wall of text above, because I know everyone here knows Kryptonian superpowers, but as a science nerd in college, I wanted to take a crack at explaining how Superman's powers work, because DC never gives good enough explanations, and other than powers being of a psionic (psychic) nature, I can't imagine how they would work.
Weakness: He has the standard Kryptonian weakness to Kryptonite, because Kryptonite radiation is converted by the organelles in his cells (mentioned above), into a poisonous compound that requires large amounts of the protein that gives them their powers.
History: Doz-Du was born to parents who were both on the science council. This fostered his love of scientific advancement and study from a tender age. At the age of twenty-one, he decided to start his career with his friend Jor-El, and the two of them worked together. Doz-Du's specific field of study was the distortions in space-time. In his mid-twenties, he published a piece regarding his studies in the field of interdimensional portals. It was this work that led to his appointment as the division head of the space-time division of the science council. He believed he was on the verge of the motherlode of scientific study. He even grew his hair long to celebrate.
In his early thirties, a medical condition caused his long black hair to turn gray, and this signaled the start of changes. It was around this time that all of Krypton started to turn ugly under the influence of paranoia and fear. When it seemed Kryptonian society could decay no further, Jor-El gave him the bad news that the planet was going to die. Not wanting to feel defeated, Doz-Du turned to science and spent several months working on a device to open a portal to the planet Jor-El had sent his son Kal. It eventually worked, leaving the Kryptonian scientist-and his living quarters-on Earth. After introducing himself, the League agreed to help him adjust to his new life on Earth. Batman helped him set up his home in a cave forty miles northwest of Metropolis, and he adopted the identity of video game character Sephiroth, based on the Flash's comment that he "looked a lot like him."
Sample Post: Doz-Du shook his head. His breaths came labored. He'd been used to the effects of Kryptonite, but never had he had any injected into his body by someone before. The pain could scarcely be tolerated; he felt as though every square inch of his body was burning. Sweat poured down his face and body. His limbs felt like they weighed twice as much. Still, he could not stop. He had to keep moving. He'd stowed away in the back of a man's truck heading out of Metropolis and towards the state line, and that had gotten him three-fourths of the way home. The problem was, he had the remaining ten miles to walk on foot, under the strain of Kryptonite flowing through his body. If it hadn't been for the fact that Luthor thought he was dead, he'd never have slipped out of the billionaire's reach.
Oh, thank you Rao, he thought, seeing his cave-dwelling in sigh. Trudging on, his vision wavering and wanting him to pass out from grogginess, he found his home inching closer and closer with each pained step. Eventually, and the whole time fearing he would pass out and die thanks to the molten Kryptonite flowing through his veins via Luthor's injection, he made it to his cave. A simple password and he entered. Stepping downward into the lab area, he headed towards the lab table.
"Starlight," he uttered, his voice gritty through pain. The voice-activated lead container opened, revealing the brilliant glow of his collection of fusion stones. Fusion stones were a discovery of his. On a sister planet of Krypton, he'd discovered a certain mixture of minerals would form a spherical object, varying in size from a marble to a basketball, that one could fill with hydrogen and it would contain a nuclear fusion reaction, releasing only light, but containing the heat and radiation. He just had to make sure and refill them every 160 days. The fact that he had a miniature yellow sun right next to him, bathing him in yellow light, had a very therapeutic effect. The pain of the Kryptonite injected into his body faded away, and he felt himself return to normal. Two hours of exposure should be enough to purge this Kryptonite from my system, he calculated.
