Clark's normally warm smile faltered momentarily. He hadn't expected such a serious tone. Despite the fallout from the crisis, things had been going relatively well. His cousin's eyes hide some sort of secret from him. She barely wanted to tell him, he could sense. He sat down slowly... expecting... well, he didn't know what to expect.
"Good or bad are subjective Kara, why don't you tell me what you think the bad news is, let's see how I take it."
He readied himself... at least, he thought he did.

''Alright bad news is Martha died, good news is the farm's doing great.'' Kara said biting her lip knowing Clark would take Mrs Kent's death pretty hard considering she'd been the one to raise him from the time he showed up to now, even if she wasn't all that great at it she was willing to comfort her cousin as much as possible could cause well now he only had her.
(sorry tired muse)

The startling news his cousin blurted out hit Clark harder than any blow ever did. Martha Kent was by far the most kind soul on the planet. Her warmth and love showed Clark the goodness in humanity. When he had uncoverred the ulterior motives sent with Kal-El as a baby, plans that had been suggested for Kal-El to rule over Earth, it was the shining example that Martha had shown, the love she had always had for him. As he'd grown, she'd always loved the boy as her own. She'd helped him learn to ride a bike, been at all of his scholastic meets. She helped him learn his powers and his weaknesses. And she was there when the only thing that hurt more than Kryptonite was Lana Lang.
And now she was gone, and he wasn't there. He knew that she wan't feeling well, but she had always carried on, head held high. Clark didn't know what to do, he just sat there, staring blankly at his blood cousin. She was trying hard to connect but just couldn't. Her big eyes were open wide, trying to feel some part of what he was feeling.
He said nothing. He just sat there... for what felt like an eternity, but must have been only a matter of seconds. The evets they had just survived hadn't killed him... but this came close. He finally caught his breath to speak.
"w.... when did this... happen?"

''A few weeks ago, I tried calling but all I got was your answering machine.'' Kara said calmly as she stood up, walked over to her cousin wrapping her arm around his shoulder she started rubbing his back hoping to calm him down after all he had just lost the women he'd considered a mother since his ship landed deep down Kara didn't understand any of it but she knew how Clark felt about the Kents. ''I'm sorry Clark.'' Kara said hesitating a little because it hadn't always been easy for her to think of him as anyone but Kal-El her baby cousin but on earth he was Clark Kent unless he was saving the earth from certain doom, she wasn't really sure how to comfort him but she had to try.

Clark was heartbroken. He couldn't move, it was like a shard of Kryptonite was lodged in his throat, choking him, renderring him useless. ... ... ... Martha Kent was dead. ... ... ... He had seen Kara stand up and walk to him. He saw her place her arm over him... But he felt... nothing. Perhaps this was what "numb" felt like.
He didn't know what to say or do. It was then, that he noticed something. There was something on his face. He brushed his hand against his cheek and looked at it. It was a tear. He was crying. He had never cried before... maybe now he was as human as he was Kryptonian. He had finally felt the loss Kara had, even though he lost human loved ones.
He leaned into her arms.
"I'm... moving home. If you don't mind."

''That's fine I could use your help on the farm.'' Kara said calmly as she rubbed her cousin's back, wiped his tear with her thumb she had to admit she'd never lost anyone she ever loved because well she'd never had the chance to love besides after all she'd seen with her cousin when it came to Lana or Chloe she realized love wasn't for her. She didn't get humans she never would, well as long as she was on earth she would refrain from falling in love until she found the right person but even then she wasn't so sure she'd find anyone that would be interested in her besides she'd have to hide her secret from whoever she fell in love with.

He stood up, taking every bit of his Kryptonian might to overcome his Human feelings. He would return to the farm. Perhaps he would finish his schooling on the nternet. Take his time and finish his studies... For what though? He could probably make a decent living on the farm. Was it really that important to go to the city and make a life? Jonathan and Martha thought so. Maybe he'd find that after a while longer on the farm. Martha was no longer there, and he knew that Kara was just trying to comfort him by saying the farm was doing fine. Clark was a farmer. Superman was a hero. On the farm, he could do both, and that was his new plan.
"So then... do you have anything else to do before going back?

''Well not really mean if you plan on coming back to smallville with me I guess I don't have to stick around after all.'' Kara said smiling a little cause the line continued to grow, she was growing very impatient she'd been on a bus which didn't impress her at all now her cousin was wanting to go back to smallville which she didn't mind at all he was always welcome it was his farm not hers. '' I'll just pick up the bags I have, well I'm not taking the bus again.'' She said sounding very disgusted at the word Bus public transportation was disgusting unless it was a gas guzzling pick up truck then it wasn't so bad but she only drove the truck when she needed to,that wasn't very often.

Clark turned towards the door.
"There are a few things I need to gather. I need to get my books and stuff... I'll stop by Met U and get transferred. You can come with me if you want to, then we'll just fly back... No reason for tact anymore... least.. I don't see any. Noone left to protect."
He looked at her fleetingly and becan to walk towards the front door.
