Erik and Kyle have a sort of "love-hate" relationship where they care about each other, but hate when one outdoes the other. Erik constantly striven to be better than his brother and became a member of the Synestro Corps at one time. Kyle battled his brother and brought him back to the side of the Green Lantern Corps. Now Erik fights side-by-side with his other brother and while he still competes with him, he has a new-found respect for Kyle.
Erik's father is a Mexican-American CIA agent named Gabriel Vasquez, who has worked under various codenames including Aaron Rayner and currently the identity of Raymond Hauser. When Gabriel's deep-cover work threatened his wife and infant son, he was forced to sever all traceable ties with them, and even conspired with Miora Rayner in fabricating a domestic violence incident to explain their abrupt separation. To Gabriel's regret, the resulting absence from his family's life and lack of his financial support forced Erik, Kyle and his mother into a rather modest lifestyle.

-I awaken from a deep sleep to the sound of my front door being kicked in. I sit up quickly and slip behind the door to my bedroom as the sounds of footsteps moving around my home can be heard. "Who the hell is it this time? Yakuza? Triads? Vatos? FBI?", I thought to myself. I had no idea who it could possibly be looking for me at this point. I could hear their footsteps getting closer as I slowly opened the top drawer on my dresser and reached in pulling out one of the only friends I have left as the handle to my door slowly turns. Sweat falls from my brow as nervousness sets in. "Last time they almost got me....what if it happens this time.....I haven't seen my father....my mother....", the words start jumbling together in my mind as I await the door to open. I thingy back the slide slowly and quietly as the door opens and gives me a little space as two men enter the room followed by a third who had checked the rest of the house. "Only three this time...", I think to myself as they quickly check every inch leaving no stone unturned, or so they believe. "Well, Tyler, it's now or never. They either get you or you get them", I kick the door away from as they turn around facing their weapons towards me....I fire immediately not thinking, but I don't want to get ahead of myself. Let me go back to six months ago.......-
Six Months Earlier: Tokyo, Japan 9:51 PM
-I could hear the fans cheering for me. I was their Gaijin hero, I was the one there to save them from the tyranny of Sho Gozaki, Ryo Suka and Bill Graves. I was the man who was there to make a difference in Real Japan Pro Wrestling....at least that's what I was supposed to be. Right before I went out onto the entrance way, the promoter approaches me. "American!", I hear him shout at me as if I couldn't hear him. "Canadian", I correct him. "Whatever. Change of plan. You go get beat up. I make up to you. You don't do, I end you. Understand?" I was pissed. This was supposed to be my shine, my time. Sho, Ryo and Bill must not have known about it, so I couldn't hold it against them. I didn't know at the time, but the owner and the promoter of Real Japan Pro Wrestling were in tight with the Yakuza. I know that now and I wish everyday that I could go back and change what I did that night instead of what the promoter wanted me to do. Instead I chose to look at him in the eye and say, "I'm not f**king Bill over like that." Bill Graves was the man who brought me to RJPW. After our historical feud in Pro Wrestling Honor, Bill wanted to introduce me to the Japanese way of wrestling. He looked at me with the most pissed off expression I had ever seen. "YOU DO IT OR YOU REGRET IT!", he said and truer words have never been spoken to me in my entire life. "Piss off.", I said to him as I went through the curtain and the crowd roared louder than before. I walked slowly to the ring staring down the three men inside. I turned around expecting to see my partners for the night, Onichi Mitsigawa and Naruki Kojima, behind me on our way to the ring, but I was shocked when I saw nobody behind me. I thought to myself, "That son of a pregnant dog.", as I turned back around and worked it over. I slid into the ring, Sho, Ryo and Bill panned to the outside and I worked my gimmick over as always, Japanese fans loved the idea of a "Prophet" of sorts and it got me over as a face more than I've ever seen in the States. I waited for the referee to get my opponents into the ring. Bill decided to start it off, which went completely against how we've worked tag matches before, but obviously he knew what was going on, but needed to hear it from me. We tied up, "Where the f**k are Onichi and Kojima?", he whispers to me as he puts me into a side-headlock. I back him up into the corner and send him off and meet Bill with a shoulder. I hit the ropes and come off jumping over Bill and then turning around and meeting him with a few punches as he stands up before I kick him in the midsection and take him over with a side-headlock of my own. "I don't know. Problem. Talk later. Match now." We finished the match the way it was originally planned to go that night with myself making Bill Graves tap out to the Montreal Stretch. I got to the back and the promoter was standing there, "You make big mistake, American." he says to me. "Canadian dammit! For the last f**king time, Canadian! Is it really so hard to understand?", I yell at him. "You no understand me, why I understand you?", he says to me with a smirk on his face. I shrugged it off and made my way to the locker room as Bill, Sho and Ryo made their way to the back. They three of them followed and thanked me for a great match like always. "Tyler, what the hell is going on?", Bill asked me. "I don't know, man. He said something about ending me if I didn't change the outcome. He wanted me to put you guys over instead of going with original plan.", I said to Bill. Sho and Ryo sat there as usual with confused looks on their faces. They knew what was going on, but they didn't want to tell Bill and I while we were still in the RJPW lockerroom. I got changed and made sure I got my pay for the night as this was the last time I would be seen in RJPW.-
-A few weeks later, I was sitting at home in Tokyo. It was a decent night, I hadn't had anything to do with RJPW during those two weeks and I assumed they would just write me out of the storylines and fill in with someone else. That wasn't the case as I found out later that night the first time my door was kicked in. They were low-level Yakuza sent to teach me a lesson. Apparently the Yakuza had underestimated me as they sent two unarmed pansies instead of highly skilled assassins. I made sure they knew who the hell they were f**king with when I busted them up so badly that their children's children would feel it. After beating the holy hell out of them, I let one run, or at least what could be considered running in the shape he was in, and I slammed the other into the wall after picking him up by his collar. "Who the f**k sent you?", I yelled in his face like Brock Sampson from The Venture Bros. "Gaijin scum, I'm not talking.", he spat in my face. I slammed him into the wall again and then the wall opposite it. "TALK DAMMIT!", I yelled out as he spat in my face again. I threw the would-be ruffient to the ground and held him down by the throat with my foot, proceeding to hold the gun to his head. "Who the f**k sent you?!", I yelled once more. The guy sold out the promoter of RJPW very quickly when he realized I wasn't playing games, but the next tidbit I got from him information that floored me. Bill Graves was in on it. He knew what was going down and tried to play me for a fool. Graves worked for the Yakuza as hired muscle when he wasn't wrestling. Over the next few months I sat down and waited every night for it to happen again and like clockwork they would send more skilled Yakuza after me. I began to grow annoyed with it so I sent a message back, "You tell Bill that if he wants me, he can come and get me himself." I knew what had gone down at RJPW now. Bill spoke with the promoter of RJPW and wanted a push back to the title and went about it in the most foul way he could have possibly done it. He could have asked me and I would have gladly dropped the title back to him, but instead he showed his true colors. Bill Graves was a snake. He was grasping onto the last shred of life he had left into his career and didn't want the next generation to take it from him. Bill Graves also took from me the one woman I ever cared about, Harmony Michaels. She left me and didn't give me a reason why, but I soon found out that she was with Bill Graves. I was furious. I was beyond furious. I have never hated a man so much in my entire life like I hated Bill. I waited and I waited, but Graves never showed up to my home. A lot of people asked me why I didn't relocate. Call it stupidity, I call it revenge. I wanted Bill to show up. I would make him pay. Fast forward to three months later.....
Three Months Ago: Tokyo, Japan 8:37 PM
-I arrived home early. I had a show in Mito, Japan with a promotion called "Dragon Dynasty Pro". I was the main event that night against Shinya Kobashi for the Dragon Dynasty Pro Heavyweight Championship. I won the match by disqualification and got home immediately afterwards. I checked my mail and found a letter from JPO of Pro Wrestling X, the now defunct promotion that John Pariah brought me to after Pro Wrestling Honor went out of business. I looked it over and had a smirk on my face when I saw I was being invited to take part in the show. Apparently my old man got in touch with JPO when he heard about it and got JPO to book me in an Ulimate X Match against a few people I've heard of and a few I've never heard of. I didn't care. I would win it, it was right down my alley, although I hadn't been in a match like this before, but it was about taking it to the limit and that's exactly what I did best. I smirked when I pulled my cellphone out and dialed JPO's number, a number I hadn't dialed in a long time. "Yeah, it's Tyler Logan. yeah, I got it. I'll be there....and John....thank you.", I said before closing my phone. I didn't care about the other competitors. Seven others competitors in the match, and eight if you included me. I liked having the odds stacked against me. I had no clue who this "Nicholas Jaxx" was, nor did I care who he or "Thomas Evans" was. I had heard of Scott Styles and wasn't really impressed by his ring-work, DJ I had beaten around in Pro Wrestling Honor, and to be honest the kid was a push-over. Pawn I had never faced before, but I wasn't worried, he never impressed me with anything he did. He would most likely sit in a corner somewhere and mope about how crappy his life was. I had heard that Thomas Evans was claiming to be better than Pro Wrestling X and that gracing it with his presence was above him. I had to laugh at that when I heard it. Who did he think he was? He was a nobody and I'd show him exactly that. There were only two names that stood out to me in this match, one, Luke Blue. The man had been a multi-time RKW Tag Team Champion and had held the CwA Tag Titles, if I remembered correctly, and the guy was a great worker. He put it all in the ring and left it all there. The other...Kirsta Lewis. That pregnant dog had screwed my father over back in CwA and he may have forgave her, but I sure as hell wasn't going to. She, along with the rest of the Elite Class, turned on my father. Yes, the Elite Class, the group that my father had formed with Dorian Ambrose turned on him and booted him out of it. Kirsta was one of many to blame for it, and now in Ultimate X I would get my chance to gain revenge on behalf of my father. I would do whatever it took to win this and regain the respect I deserved.-
-"Ultimate X....yeah, I know. Yeah....dude. Yes I know. Yuri, calm down man, I'll be fine. Ultimate X is about no limits man, I'm all about that. I know my mother is gonna be pissed, but I have to do it. I owe it to John. Yeah, Yuri, I'll be fine. Trust me man, I can do this. Ten grand is the prize. Yeah, it could be more, but ten grand is ten grand. Yeah, I'm flying in a few weeks from now. I doubt it. He's busy with "other things". No, I haven't seen my brother in a while. I don't care man. Nicholas Jaxx is nothing to me. Seriously, I could care less. Thomas Evans is just some arrogant prick, man. Yeah, I'll knock some god d**n sense into him. DJ's a push-over dude. He couldn't beat me in PWH, he can't beat me now. I'll be surprised if he even shows up. Hell, I'll be surprised if half of these guys show up. Yeah, I know that pregnant dog is in the match. Kirsta's got it coming, Yuri. She f**ked over my father, and I'm gonna make sure she pays for it. Luke Blue? I don't know man. If him and I get the chance to go at it in this match, I'm sure we will. I'm looking forward to it. Scott Styles? I doubt he'll even show up, Yuri. I ain't worried about him or Pawn. They're push-overs. Yeah, I know. Alright man, I gotta go. Thanks Yuri. Later.", I hung up the phone with my agent and watched a little TV. In two weeks I'd be flying out of Toyko for this show and I couldn't be happier at this time. I had nobody from the Yakuza clan showing up at my house late at night. I did my shows with Dragon Dynasty Pro and came home. I was happy for once. Fast Forward to two weeks later.-
Present Day: Toyko, Japan, Tyler Logan's home. 3:22 AM
-I awaken from a deep sleep to the sound of my front door being kicked in. I sit up quickly and slip behind the door to my bedroom as the sounds of footsteps moving around my home can be heard. They either get you or you get them", I kick the door away from as they turn around facing their weapons towards me....I fire immediately not thinking before I reacted.....it was Bill this time. It wasn't a weapon he was holding....he hadn't kicked in my door, and the two men with him were Sho and Ryo. I shot all three of them and they didn't even know what was going on. All the information that was given to me were lies. Bill had nothing to do with the whole thing, hence the reason why he never showed up to my home until now. "Tyler?", he looked at me after the bullet him in the stomach. Bill got the worst shot out of the three. I grazed Sho's shoulder barely, and I shot Ryo in the arm. "BILL!", I rushed to the side of my friend, "Tyler, wha...what's going on?", he asked me. It was that point I realized he knew nothing. "Bill, I'm so sorry....", that bastard promoter had set us up. He wanted us all out of the way. I rushed the Bill, Sho and Ryo to the hospital. Sho and Ryo would recover quickly, Bill on the other hand was suffering. The bullet penetrated the wall of his stomach causing the stomach acid to seep throughout his body. He would require surgery to fix the problem and probably make it through, but I still felt horrible for what I had done. I shot the man who, next to my father and my trainers, helped me out the most in the business.-
-I went to see Bill the night before my flight was to fly out of Tokyo. He was still laid up in the hospital and was slowly recovering. "Hey, brother.", he said to me as I entered the room. He had a smile on his face, I had no clue why, I was the guy who shot him. I expected him to hate me, but Bill Graves wasn't that kind of person. "Hey.", I said as I walked over to him. "So tomorrow's the flight, huh?", he asked me. "Yeah...I may call it off.", I responded. "Don't do that. I know what PWX meant to you. Get your ass to Crown Point and put on a show that crowd's never seen. I'll be here when you get back.", he said to me. I nodded. I didn't want to leave him like this, he was my best friend, but he was right. I had a job to do, and a show to steal. I said my good-bye to him for now and headed back home to pack my backs. The next day, I made my way to the airport. "In the name of the father, the son and the Lost Prophet......failure is not an option." I said to myself as I got on the plane and awaited the long flight back to the States. PWX would see a side of Tyler Logan they had never seen, I'd make sure of it-
